Tubular practice lock
Master the art of picking tubular locks.
Practice locks are engineered to lower tolerances than most tubulars. Highly recommended for those who wish to master the art of picking tubular locks. Cut-away Practice LockThis specialized lock cylinder is was designed for beginning locksmiths in developing critical lock picking skills. This see-through pin-tumbler lock is an excellent learning tool. By watching the movement of the pins as you practice your lock picking skills, you will gain a better understanding of how and why a lock can be compromised...and improve your own performance levels. It has a cut-away section that lets you see inside- how the tumblers and springs within the lock react when a key is inserted, and when lock picks are used to compromise the lock. Used worldwide in home, office, hotelauto locks and padlocks, the mechanism has become known generically as the "Yale" Lock. The Visible Cutaway Practice Lock is a great training tool for the student locksmith and all others seeking to learn the trade. This includes deadbolts! Very few deadbolt locks make use of mortise cylinders (in fact, Lori is the only one I can think of offhand). Key-in-knob Cut Aways are easier to rekey, too, because you don`t have to fumble with tiny screws every time you want to remove the plug.

Reveals the locking mechanism of the standard handcuff
Allows the user to understand its strengths and weaknesses
Includes one key
The Practice Handcuff reveals the locking mechanism of the standard handcuff, and allows the user to understand its strengths and weaknesses. Includes one key. In addition to the top chamber having been precisely milled, there is also a slot right at the shear line, exposing the bottom pins when the lock plug is rotated slightly off center using the supplied working key (or by picking the lock). Available in Kwikset or Schlage keyway, standard top pins or spool pins, and in a variety of pinnings. We offer key-in-knob style Cut Away Practice Locks because they are more reasonably priced than mortise cylinders and yet they are EXACTLY the same with respect to their inner workings. In fact, the huge majority of locks that a Locksmith encounters in lockout situations will be locks containing key-in-knob (KIK) type cylinders. This includes deadbolts! Very few deadbolt locks make use of mortise cylinders (in fact, Lori is the only one I can think of offhand). Key-in-knob Cut Aways are easier to rekey, too, because you don`t have to fumble with tiny screws every time you want to remove the plug.
